I posted so you can see what the details look like on a real coin. You can enlarge to see many details. Whatever type of graphic representation it is, it shows better graphic detail of the coin than the photo from the OP (no offense OP). And also so we'd have a known sample to compare with. Jim
Well i do not own any of this year so can only go by the photos provided. And from the 2 photos the op has posted i am saying they have major differences. Not sure which one is correct, but they are certainly different.
Also whats with this extra feather on the back of the head? Also check out how close the leaves are to the kooks body in both photo's, they are clearly different distances
Do both coins have the denomination on the other side listed ? And don't be shy to weigh them. Be carful, not to scratch them, so begin with coins in capsule. Good thread....A real stackers / collectors thread. Hopefully you have a type A and B coin......Cheers
Fair enough. Details i could expect to see some small differences, but there are some majors here that i do not think are light related. Take the leaves proximity to the kook and that is clearly not light, a bigger space is just that, BIGGER.
"Oh no quick quick Sid the bullion kook die has cracked and we are only half way through mintage!" " Mmmm, dont stress Bill, easy fix, I will fly directly to China and borrow one from ali express "
We have just witnessed another Eureka moment....No interest in topical threads. Filling in space on threads with useless benign comments. Great thread, interesting photos and perspectives and viewpoints. And a bit of light hearted banter sprinkled in also. But, as usual there are couple in every crowd that have to be mean spirited and destroy a perfectly good thread. It would be good to see there is a variation in these coins. There seems to be a difference in the Kookaburras head and tail, and further investigation about lighting and differences is warranted. Keep the thread going in a POSITIVE light...Cheers Everyone
There is some shading in photo's. But there are some real differences. I'm with you, that some higher res photos and angles may help. But, surely the person who started the thread can visually see a profound difference else what would be the point of the thread. But you do make a valid point. Cheers
Perhaps if this thread was moved to the silver coin page it may come up with some better answers/ideas after al regardless trolls or not a member dealer was mentioned in the opening of this thread.
This is a staged picture taken by someone using adjusted light sources to give the appearance of 2 different coins. Give me 2 separate pictures taken under the same lighting conditions direct above each coins and you will find they are the same. I am concerned as to why someone would register an account for the sole purpose of pulling this trolling stunt. Are they trolling stackers or PB?
How can you confirm its a troll? Also if its a new member how did thy post a pic? How comes their join date is 2012 but a New Member?
Very concerning how these threads develop such interest. To me it's not so much the credibility of the alleged fake item but rather the credibility of the op. Seems a bit sus to me that there is yet another thread alleging fakes from what I know to be a reputable bullion dealer. As Auric Goldfinger pointed out "Once is happenstance. Twice is coincidence. Three times, it's enemy action." :/
I don't see anything in the OP that alleges a fake item, just the OP is interested in why the coins appear different. Some here are jumping at shadows, and until the OP follows up with some better photos, people will continue to speculate on whether or not they are different / fake / real / etc.
Yep, there is clearly a shadow over one side of the picture which strongly suggests to me an attempt at some sort of obfuscation. Very, very sus. :/
