The problem is everybody wants them at less than spot! People need to be realistic with price expectations.

I have purchased all the bars that were available off a site sponsor over the last 8 weeks at his ask price .Keen to buy more just cant see them here for sale.

Having understood the ethos of the site I'm way happier to buy from forum members and sponsors than elsewhere at the moment.

But yet the newer members buy premium "COLLECTABLE " coins for big $
But because they have some $ to spend they think they can set the price

I'm pretty confident I can get those 10oz bars
So here is my offer ,before I get them .
At tomorrow closing prices from W.Davis 10oz bars + $20 each
    20 maybe 30 available

Hang on, I have never been a price maker on this forum. I have always accepted the asking price or moved on - never offered lower than was being asked.

Last week it took me 36hrs to get an offer on one bar I was looking to buy, and I took it without hesitation (given it was a good price of course).

Earlier last week when I was looking to buy, I didn't even get an offer, and gave up?

I list items less often now as the tone of the forum has changed. Getting sick of dreamers expectations regarding pricing. Better to do repeat trades with people you gave dealt with before.

Generally hard to find a sales post now amongst the mindless banter that the forum has become. Time to delete the general section and increase the moderation.

The number of bars for sale are down and I dont think it's because sellers are getting precious about low ball offers. That happens in all markets.

There seems to be just less bars for sale here?

    All good Spanner :)

Current market and lack of bar sellers indicates to me holding bars is a good thing. Current market also tells me to stay TFA from proofs and lunars. :|

I've picked up some Lunar proof's lately ,BUT only the ones I like & for myself ,not to flip ,
Getting your head around Lunars is not easy ,but I've noticed a few newer members have been spending up big on the wrong Lunars
Not easy flipping in these times, especially if everybody is doing the same thing

Good point.I'm starting to see that they are two different markets .The bars are being hoarded for all the reasons we know and I guess coins will be traded all the time with the collector advantage and liquidity they offer.

Wish I had the time to get to research the coin market.Looks like a great area to be in.For the moment I guess I will be a very small time bar stacker.

yeah i noticed that too last year there was lots of multiple 1kg ,100oz the odd 5kg even a 1000oz bar & A few 1kg gold things are definately slowing down on the bigger stuff .
I think when the price goes back up a bit they will come out of the woodwork

Valid yes ,would I buy them
    NO

Your in Oz ,they are an imported bar/coin
Local dealers (not the online dealers & sponsers on here ) don't know them
You have to think of worst case scenario ,if your not selling on them here

I've listed stuff for sale on here over the last year or so. Last year people more accepted your price or not. More recently I get real low-ball offers like I'm desperate for cash. Just the way things change over time I guess.

What is the "bread and butter" coin that trades along some parallel to spot that is regarded for liquidlity and stability?
