We all know that CPI has nothing to do with real inflation but this is an interesting move by the US during a time of crisis cover-ups.

...would make the next QE stimulus not run out as quickly...CPI is already pretty murky figure considering nothing we all use/need is included like Oil/Food/Energy/etc.

The statement "resulting in a slower rise in inflation" admits inflation is out of hand

Changing how things are interpreted doesn't do shit to inflation. Inflation is the increase in Money supply. CPI is a way of reading how inflation affects Prices.

Understand this and you can see what is really going on here

Quote from Bernanke circa 2013. "Due to the large homelessness of the American people, we have decided that increases in rental costs do not accurately reflect price changes due to the people choosing to sleep it rough. Rent costs have now been substituted for park benches."

If the Bernanke can achieve 100% of income spent on food and energy the US will have 0% official inflation regardless of the money supply.

I just wonder what would be the official inflation rate in Zimbabwe before the local currency collapsed calculated the US way.
