Just had a meeting with my DW re: our SMSF and did a quick analysis of our investments .... Current paper losses of 39 FRIGGIN PRECENT. Ok, so we have a long term investment, blah blah... it hurts. Shiny.
Nobody can look after your interests better than you. Chalk it up to your education fund. You don't need a DW you just need to D.I.Y Kind Regards non recourse
In a super fund? I believe new legislation requires assets to be valued at fair value. This means you will have incurred a loss if at 30 June the 'fair value' is less than you paid for it. For a bullion bar or coin, fair value will be spot plus premium so yes, you will show losses in the fund.
Technically it's "Market Value" which is defined as: Reference: SUPERANNUATION INDUSTRY (SUPERVISION) ACT 1993 - SECT 10(1)
Give it a few weeks or months Shiny.....dont worry PMs will appreciate again no doubt.....Its just a waiting game thats all.....looooooong term investment.
Remember that this is not to scale... I hope i am at the bottom of the dip, and not just one or two dot points down... Maybe i have seen the bottom with loss of 39% but maybe i have a lot more to lose!!! If only i sold when i had lost 10% and waited to re-enter.... But then i may have had to buy in at a higher price.. It is all crystal ball stuff.... What's for dinner??? Lets change the subject!!! Shiny
