New bars, I think they are the same dimension as the current 1oz Kangaroo bars. In certicard packaging.
Nope, unfortunately not, they are reminting in unlimited quantities it looks So there goes the premiums on the originals. I don't think the Oriana design has even been modified. Wonder how long until they start producing 'special runs' of their vintage bars? At least we know all S2 lunar kilo coins being minted until 2019
I don't suppose it is that hard for them to remint any of the older vintage bars, especially the popular 1oz-ers.
Same size as the current 1oz Kangaroos means that they are a different size to the original Orianas. Packaging is *definitely* different. Hardly a remint. Haters gonna hate.
Is it really an AMPEX exclusive? Any dealers able to get them here at all? I'd love to see these in local packaging, and sold locally. Agree with the comments above regarding value on the originals - this should only HELP increase that value as they are more valuable as a 'first edition'. Look at the renewed interest in original Engelhards.
perhaps premium will drop for a while and when everyone is settled and accepted these new bars premium should rise back again...very slowly...just like the kooks
Heard a rumour about this about a year ago but definitely didn't think they'd follow through. From what I heard CnT is the main distributor and APMEX would buy though them. Still got a few stashed away but like the vintage PM bars, they should continue to attract their premium albeit a little less.
These are available today at Gold Stackers. We've negotiated special access to the product and will be one of a very few dealers able to offer the new Oriana in Australia. As mentioned elsewhere above they are a totally new bar, different in size and packaging to the originals. Only available in 1oz.
It's a new product line we will constantly be stocking. Cost is within a few bucks of a regular Certicard. Perth Mint does not put mintage limits on bullion bars.
Now also in 1g and 10g sizes... http://www.apmex.com/category/90289/oriana-gold-bars?utm_campaign=01192016category90289
