Bullion Lunar Silver Dragon Coin 2012 Year of the Dragon Declared and Final sales figures - correct as at 11 January 2013 http://www.perthmint.com.au//docume...nar_Silver_Bullion_Series_Two_2008_-_2013.pdf
BB - To be honest I thought there would have been a lot more 2's minted considering the bunny mintage was 99,494
That is an insane number of .5oz dragons. Although I avoided dragon frenzy, I picked up some 5oz coins late last summer based on the fact that they were the lowest mintage of the non kilo dragons. Glad to see a bunch more weren't minted.
The 5oz hasn't been popular because of the higher wholesale premiums - the 10oz size sold out weeks ago, there's still stocks of 5oz and 2oz kicking around. The 1/2oz was available from the mint until a few weeks ago - literally had someone walk in on Friday and ask "how many have you got" and they bought everything I had left in stock (boxes of them). Got lots of 1/10oz gold left over if anyone is chasing them
First thanks for Holdfast for Data I was looking for. Second Goldpelican 10 oz dragon u can easly find in europe http://www.24carat.co.uk and other places if someone needs. 5 oz coin will be more popular in the future for sure becouse a people just realised 5 oz coin is fk awesome and im not joking its superb coin/s. This size can satisfied nearly everyone and its also very good for collectors. And for gold Dragons i Think best size is 1/2 oz coin and its been sold out in many places.
Really 389 K is an insane amount? I totally dont see that... just over the BULLION 1oz limited coin that had huge premiums.. to me that was the pick of the bunch, uber low premiums and tons of demand - also the best coin to buy and sell for a quick profit. 1/2 ounce all the way.. demand is the componant that will see the 1/2 dragon stay strong in the secondary market. Sure the 5oz is low mintage but it dosent have the same demand as the far cheaper 1/2 oz which has mass appeal to the rich and poor alike. Also.. why no mintage declaration for the Lion Privy.. its bullion right? haha too funny .. schhh secret. (we know its only 200,000K rate!) 1for1
^^^1for1 Just thought I'd post the privy coins because it's on a new pdf document. Cheers http://www.perthmint.com.au//documents/Australian_Silver_Bullion__Privy_Mark__Coins_2011_to_2013.pdf
Holy Moley.. such low mintage for the Koala and Kook.. may make them a good investment but who knows. Appreciate your good work Holdfast 1for1
Cheers. I was a bit surprised too, especially after considering the 1oz 2011 Koala coin had a mintage of 910,480. http://www.perthmint.com.au//docume...la_Silver_Bullion_Coin_Series_2007_-_2013.pdf
Damn BB had those kooks with privy drag on special for around a month at less than 35 per coin.. oh well to bad never mind 1for1
Haha, nice to see that they sold a whopping 3 of the 10 kg *gold* Year of the Dragon (out of a mintage limit of 100). So we know that there's at least 3 people (or institutions) out there willing to plonk down over half a million bucks on a coin

You think? People had plenty of opportunity to buy as many as they wanted and over the year the Perth Mint only shifted 31,000 of them. They are not that popular now and they are unlikely to suddenly become popular just because they have a low mintage. you can't charge high premiums on coins that no one wants. Any idea how long they were on sale for? I have one for the collection. I haven't looked for the figures in the past but this was a real eye opener! I bought the 1oz, why? Because they were limited to 300,000! So they must be the hardest one to find, but there are more of them than all the others put together (excluding the 1/2 ounce size) As much as I don't like them and think that the premiums are too high the 1/2 oz coins seem to be the most popular! Do these figures include the 'specimen' finished coins available in the sets? They were just bullion weren't they? Well, at least it is all over now, until they remint the 1kg that is...
