    I believe this may be of interest to some of you: gold, secrecy and Second World War naval history.

    Explainer: In broad strokes, Operation Fish in 1941 was to transport the gold reserves of the Royal Treasury and the Bank of England to safe custody in Commonwealth countries (mainly, Canada) in case the British Isles was to be overrun by Axis forces.
