    Hallo everyone,

I'm having a hard time to find recent sales (or even current auctions) of most of the lunar series 1 kilo coins.
    What would they be worth?

Reason I'm asking is because this German dealer (http://www.auragentum.de/de/Lunar-I.html) has, since recently, a whole bunch of the 1 kilo pigs an dogs (i can add 19 kilo pigs and 12 kilo dogs in my cart) for the (low?) price of 899 per piece.

I think it's weird that he has so much, while there's almost no similar sales anywhere else of these coins (or I'm looking in the wrong place; not really an expert yet at these things).

Thanks in advance for some of your knowledge/opinions :)

@ Matthew: It's not an advert... as you can see I'm from Belgium and the dealer is from Germany...

@House: Thanks for confirming that this is a good deal. I think I'll get one of each myself :) It's really the first time that I see Lunar I kilo's somewhat affordable.

just for super-confirmation: this can't be a restrike right? :p

Forum rules are that new members are not allowed to post external links until they've made at least 10 posts so naturally we'd be suspicious as your first post is about exceptionally well priced and rare Series 1 kilo's.

You can write your location to be anywhere you choose.

If you're here to stay, introduce yourself in the New Members thread http://forums.silverstackers.com/forum-22-welcome-new-members.html

As for being remints, my understanding is that they can be reminted until the next series has begun so therefore there shouldn't be any Series 1 remints. Maybe email them and ask?

The company has been around for at least 5years so should be legit enough.

@ House: Thanks for the info. I'm sorry to have not read the new member rules beforehand.

tunabear - Welcome to the forum and thanks for the link to that coin dealer.

I just checked some of the "Series 2" 1kilo lunars and they are much...much...cheaper than the sellers in Australia.

The prices of their 2oz and 5oz Lunars are also quite reasonable.

    Thanks for sharing. :)

@ Holdfast: Thanks! Those prices have recently lowered (due to spot price dropping partly, but there was a further decrease). I think those might be part of the restrikes. Maybe those mostly found their way to Europe?

@ M. Thurlow: Wow that's a nice set :D I don't think the series 2 set will be regarded as exclusive as this (again because of the high mintage numbers we'll have by then)

My understanding is Lunar s2 kilos can be restruck up until 2019.

I haven't heard of it occurring yet, but it can happen.

Serves me right for not being a big lunar fan.

I see the advice is to not pay any sort of collector premium on these until the series ends.

Remint or not, they're still quite expensive even with the low spot prices! Still looking for an ox and tiger and apmex has it at quite expensive prices. :/

    Hi Everyone,

I am new here and keen know more about the 1 KG Lunar coin.

I bought the Perth Mints series II from Apmex recently for the following.

2009 Year of the Ox - 1 Kilo Silver Coin (Series II)
2011 1 Kilo (32.15 oz) Silver Australian Year of the Rabbit
2014 1 Kilo Silver Australian Year of the Horse (SII)
2012 1 Kilo Silver Australian Year of the Dragon NGC MS-69

The Germany dealer list here is cheap in term of premium on current spot rate. It is only at 6%. I need to pay 15% even I buy at Singapore.

I am keen to the tiger.

Anyone bought from them and confirm the coin is .999 and not fake coin?

btw that German dealer www.auragentum.de still shows this:
How's that rumor about higher tax on silver in Germany from start 2014 going?
Still no real confirms, and this dealer still lists the same tax rate like it was last year.
