You might want to look again. Gainesville doesn't have a price for the 1oz gold dragons. And I guarantee you it will be more than 1757.

    Hi there,

its unable to order at a acceptable price in germany. One shop offered a max. nummer of 5 pcs fr less the 40. His stock was empty within mintutes.
All other ask much much more. For me as i am collecting this series from the beginning its not possible to get some or you are willing to pay 60-70.
The dealers take more than a 100% profit on this deal, thats not fair against their long time customers.

<<<<Wishes he had the capital to move to Germany and set up a dealership and offer the same quality service that dealers like Maggie, AEL, CK etc etc give to us Aussies. Sure the profit per coin wouldn't be as high, but the loyal customers would flock in droves and the volume would surely make up for it.

No shit. Now imagine how you'd feel if was a German mint making the dragon coins and shipping 90% of them overseas to be sold then you'll get a feeling of the rage here.

Nice to have a few 1oz dragons, but we are silverstackers so better to move on and get what we can for bullion coin value.

+1. Bullion coins with a nice numi bonus would have been nice but I'll be looking for other investments now instead.

Buying 1 oz dragons with high premium is like swapping 2oz dragon for 1oz dragon and that doesn't make sense to me.

I have mentally moved on. I will be buying some San Francisco mint ASEs for the novelty and maybe some Macaws. After that, its back to gold for me.

    $88 for a 2oz dragon or $60+ for a 1oz? I know which looks better to me.

1oz silver dragons are available again in Germany. Now they are going for around 74+ Euro. the biggest dealer asks 77. 2oz Dragons are cheaper now. Insane.

Well that seals it for me then, If I can't buy direct from The Mint I am getting some of the larger sizes, I care more about value for money than scarcity, it will all be forgotten when the next big thing comes out anyway.

Just heard from another German Mint 84 euros $115.47 AUD. Do we really need to say more. We are Australians. Iam sure someone else can add to this. Iam lost for words.
    Regards Maggie

I wonder if this debacle will turn many people away from lunars as a whole and not bother picking them up again next year?

I'm lost for words too Maggie, it's amazing how this price gouging is allowed to stand.

    Lol

At those prices, the 1oz proof will be cheaper.

Yeah and knowing Perth mint, 4995 of them will be shipped to USA or Europe to be slabbed and diced leaving 5 on their retail site @ $399 each.

Don't blame the Germans. Peth Mint created this mess.
Perth Mint demonstrated unprofessional conduct many times in the past, and nothing demonstrates this better than the answer for the open letter sent to them.
    No apologies just clear BS.

I'm still hoping my "dealer" will come through with my 20 x dragons at his pre-order price of $40 each. I talked to him by phone about 2 weeks ago first hand and he didnt' seem too concerned about this sort of small order. If he doesn't come good though, then I sure as hell won't be buying from him again.
