Has anyone ordered bullion from KJC Bullion, Sydney.....Would you recommend them for their products and service?
Price aside, service (well pre-Covid anyway) was fine on a F2F basis...no experience re postage so no comment on that. F2F on par with ABC and some other dealers in greater Sydney I've dealt with.
Tried to buy bars from them when they used to open their shop... they never wanted to take the bars out from display, not sure why... saw me as a time-waster perhaps. Had a friend bought those PM 5g bars.. online bar had package shown, when received, only bar with plastic wrap, no packaging... friend questioned them why those he ordered got no packages as per online, they said they came as what he received... my friend never wanted to buy from them again...
I bought off them twice. Once was with delivery at $35 which was way over the top at the time. The other time I went into the CBD and picked the items up. Had to sit outside the office whilst they cleared a couple of customers. It's a small front office for pick up so not many can squeeze in. This was 2 to 3 years ago. Now they have some of the highest premiums in Australia and I don't bother with them anymore. Compare their prices with any other bullion companies and you will see what I mean.
I have bought from them a few times in the last year. While their prices are a littler higher than other sellers, I collect from their CBD office which means no delivery or insurance fees. So the total price I pay is about the same (or slightly less) than buying from others not located in Sydney (e.g. Perth Mint). But collecting the items can be a bother; you now (2020) need to schedule an appointment time and date from their website, which is not always convenient for me. But they make considerable effort to contact you to confirm you will attend at the appointment time and date. In short, the certainty of collection is - for me - a major benefit with KJC Bullion.
I bought from them a few times about 5 years ago when I was working in the city. I found their service to be excellent, and that was with transactions ranging from a couple hundred to over a thousand dollars, so not huge money. At the time I compared between them Jaggards and ABC Bullion who were all within walking distance and there wasn't much difference in price at the time. No idea how they rate post-COVID, but it is a very small shopfront.
