And all the ladies at NGC say they're a perfect pair... Each are the 1st of their kind graded by NGC. And each are also my 1st raw submissions.. They'll always be like this, right? (Many thanks for your assistance, my friend! )
Awesome medals! Perfect 70's...wow! I have the same Dazu Rock Carving medal (2nd in series) in the raw and it's one of my favorite Chinese medals of all. It really is a spectacularly detailed and designed piece with very high relief. I have spent hours admiring it since I'd purchased it a couple of years ago. A grade of 70 is awesome for such a big medal! The sheep too! .
I have a question: why they don't make them in Silver material? I guess.......maybe it's too soft to mint?
Yeah, Dazu is pretty cool for 2012.. Heck, even pretty cool for 2016! Had my eye on it for a while now. Also in copper. And silver -- can I borrow some $$? Not a whole lot of other 70's in 70mm & up, from what I can see.. A few WH Great Walls in Ag, and that pearl one. For brass, a couple in one of those Grottoes varieties. That's about it. Even the smaller ones in these really high-reliefs, you don't see a whole lot . Looks like mainly Shanghai Mint. And even though I didn't see anything wrong with mine in the pouches at least to the naked eye, just sort of figured they'd get the standard 69's. Putting them on eBay for $8,888.88, baby!!
Nah, just too hard on the wallet.. http://www.ebay.com/itm/China-2012-Silver-Medal-Dazu-Rock-Carvings-2nd-Issue-/151824139561
