I am really interested in Ireland right now and am interested in knowing more about their current and ancient monetary system. My current question is if they are minting any gold legal tender coins? Like the gold and silver eagles that we have in the States?

No, nothing like an AGE or Krug is minted, only commemorative or collector coins.

Although a bit of AGE trivia is that Augustus Saint-Gaudens who designed the 1933 Double Eagle was born in Ireland but emigrated to NY before he was 1.
