The US has no intent on paying off the prinicpal of the debt. Their only concern is keeping the interest payments on its debt at a sustainable level to GDP
He's giving the sweet sweet pleasure that comes from gently caressing the luxurious finish of kilo bar of .9999 silver, or the delectable tingle of a handful of 1oz silver coins as you let them slip through your fingers.

you only allocated 10% of your net worth to physical metal holding.. i hope you listen properly when you hear them talking. this is only as insurance.. if you give up your 10%, then you still have your 90% in stock, real estate, etc and i hope you done well over there.
You are assuming we are going to pay the debt off with valuable money. Bad assumption. Most likely scenario is that the US will default through paying off the debt with deeply devalued currency. Another possibility is for the US to default on foreign holdings of US debt. But as long as we can print money, why wouldn't we pay off the debt with newly printed funds?

+1 Michael Ruppert (R.I.P) seemingly took his won life recently. As an investigative cop for the LAPD, he found himself down a societal 'rabbit hole' most people don't even know exists. It obviously dramatically affected his outlook on life. I found him informative at times, but over the top and too negative at times also. http://www.blacklistednews.com/Michael_C._Ruppert_Suicide_Note_Released/34579/0/38/38/Y/M.html With a user name like TheEnd, I presume there is a reasonable chance you are familiar with the late Michael Ruppert. Be careful, and enjoy your life. Don't get too caught up in myopic views (especially the neg). The same applies to the constant hyping of "silver heading on up soon" due to __(latest hype reason)___________________ . The perm-bulls in the business constantly hype investors up, but the expectations are not realised in a preferable time-frame. This can be a neg too. Mind your mental steps.
What are you giving up on? hoping the world will come to an end next week? I think you have to realise how bad the situation would be if any of the dire predictions from the usual commentators we all listen to came true. Can you imagine the chaos? the panic? Most people are not informed like us and have not woken up. I just read today 2 out of 3 people live paycheck to paycheck. No concept of saving and most said they could not raise $2000 in an emergency. Can you imagine the state of people like this if things turned upside down? What would they do for food when their kids start crying because they are hungry? No one knows how bad things will eventually get, but one thing I think we all agree on is that things will be worse than they are today - when that is, who the hell knows. Just plan accordingly, get out of debt, stockpile the essentials, have an emergency fund - Have a plan! Then carry on stacking.
