You didn't even find the X and the Y of your brain let alone the bottom of the Atlantic! (PS. This Can Be A Joke)
Maybe you are not as paranoid as you should be.... All it woud take is someone with a little bit of time on thier hands...Let say you post you have 600oz in here...then a few weeks later a thread comes up about storing silver in a safe(which is a thread on here) and you post you keep your silver in a safe in your garage, I mean whats the big deal right? Then you decide to sell or trade or buy something...guess who has your address, your stack size and where you store it... You seem to underthink how this stuff works, people can hang around for along time gathering information from a lot of people prior to ever making a move. Like its been said multiple times in this thread IT HAS happened to members here but I guess they are just paranoid too.
If it is paranoia.......it is not only on this forum, but in the world of PM stacking, on the internet and off. I've seen a lot of examples in my live - face to face - contacts, friends and co-workers. And more importantly, it is not paranoia if they are out to get you. I will admit there is some truth in what you say, but it is overshadowed by the truth presented by your critics.
About 200 u boats exploded there and the women that flew the newly produced planes to england threw their empty coke cans out of the window there too.
I don't have a lot at the moment but once I start to seriously build my stack up i'll be putting it into a security box nice and safe from thieves. Now... where was that money tree again?
I was only kidding. I don't have that much silver. the silver I do have is stored off site, so there is nothing to steal anyway.
Your forgetting something.. putting it in a security box still allows thieves to reach it... HELLOOO GOVERNMENT
Thieves stole my metal detector last year. It can detect a single coin at 60cm and larger objects way deeper.
Imagine a bail-in like Cyprus... the banks close.... only a nominated amount is allowed to be withdrawn... all SDB boxes are overseen during this time to ensure the limit hasn't been extended... the contents are noted and go towards the bail-in... bearing in mind that the bank is being bailed so they will gladly rat you out to the government.
I have a lot of silver if you want to see it, just stop by my door is always unlocked. Just remember to give it a good kick as it sticks a bit.
With due respect, I don't think that is that is the right question. I think we want to know 'What are the possibilities of that happening on your timeline?' If you tell me that if I cross the street and there is a 10% chance I'll be run over - dead - by a truck, I'm not going to cross the road. Likewise, tell me 10% I'll be struck dead if I do not cross, and I'm crossing. I have concern not only for myself, my children, and my grandchildren as well, so for me, a 10% in the next 50 years is a big deal. How about 5%? I'm still paying attention. Some things which are not probable to occur, but realistically possible, should cause us concern. In my mind, that scenario, or one that is similar, is realistically possible. My crystal ball does not give me the odds. I have never felt the need to be consumed by a concern. I keep it in mind, sometimes use it to help make decisions. I'm not trying to convince any family members they should be preparing for some such event. However, I put my spare cash to preparing, and I feel that is enough. Still making my motorcycle insurance payments, take joy rides on the weekend, eat out someplace nice on the weekends, not doing without. My wife, she is putting her spare cash on life's little luxuries. She knows the general concept of buying silver, and she approves as long as I hold up my end of the family budget. I'd estimate 80% of my personal (not family) disposable income goes to silver, or other preparedness. That is really not much of the total family budget. Windfall cash, 100%. I pretty much live life like the event will probably not happen, because it probably will not. I'm planning on getting a side car for my motorcycle when I hit 70, because that will probably still be a good idea. But I have a back up plan.
