I know a few other places that do but not regularly and they also charge a ridiculous premium because its .9999

My dream is to have a 2011 1oz silver Kangaroo minted in .9999 but since 2011 is almost over its going to only ever be a dream.

Also why don't they at least make the kangaroo in .999 then besides the stupid proof they make which costs like 3x spot for 1oz of silver.

Perth mint is getting notorious with their premiums on the specially designed coins. I like them too they are pretty but I'm mainly a investor and not so much a coin collector so I got to sit back and watch all the pretty stuff go bye.

No one sells the pretty stuff for anything near spot. Its like they are born with numismatic value.

Do you mean the RAM 1 oz kangaroo?

There is a bullion version that comes with a carded background - wrapped in plastic. It still costs a bit more though and I guess maybe the mintage of 20 000 has been reached this year. 2012 versions are being released soon - there is a thread here somewhere.:)

    Yeah that's the coin.

Why can't they put a kangaroo on a normal coin for normal price?

Kangaroos are my favorite animal but I can't afford $106 for 1oz of silver.

I just spent less then that and got two ounces.

Oh, right....that is the Perth Mint High Relief Kangaroo - yes, they are a bit pricy.

The Royal Australian Mint ones are different - see a few days back in the Silver Coin thread for images of the 2012 one. Could be worth getting if you like kangaroos.

I am useless at copying threads - my C/P seems not to work with IE9, have to type them all out.

Just went and posted on that Kangaroo thread - it will come up in new posts for you. Hope it gives a bit more info.
