This is a rewrite from an article on Marketwatch https://www.marketwatch.com/story/h...gger-stock-market-circuit-breakers-2015-08-24 7% decline If the S&P 500 falls 7% from the previous session’s close before 3:25 p.m. Eastern, all stock-market trading halts for 15 minutes. 13% decline After stocks reopen, it would then take a 13% decline by the S&P 500 before 3:25 p.m. to trigger a second trading halt, which would also last 15 minutes. 20% decline After a second trading halt, it would take a decline of 20% to trigger a so-called Level 3 circuit breaker. Once a 20% drop occurs, trading is halted for the remainder of the day. I think we will see this or very close to it - today EST 16th March 2020
I’ve always wondered what level of gains trigger a circuit breaker on an upswing? Oh that’s right the house owns the table
What’s everyone’s thoughts about how much the Dow will drop tonight? Will we hit level 3? I’m thinking we’ll hit level 2 fairly quickly, but end up closing about 16% lower
As mentioned I think we will stop out for the day at 20%. If not it will be very close. PPT will likely be in action so let’s see what happens. Gold and silver are quite a portend to the days events.
