I always get a bit nervous when an assayer changes everything about an assay card.

Need some confirmation the one on the right is legit, it has a different design in that the lady is smaller, and the coin she is dropping on far bottom left is attached to the rest of the coins, on the left it is separated. Also there a number of other differences. Just need a few confirmations it's fine. It also weighs 0.5g more than the one on the left. The one on the left weighs 37.6g. Thanks.

mmm yea the detail on the right looks a bit off in a few areas. Hope they just changed the press and is all ok. I really hate it when they change the design!!

    update

found this http://www.coin-rare.com/pamp-gold-bar.aspx the image they have looks the same to the image on the right. Looks like they are from two different location and have different plates. Bit sloppy if you ask me, but looks ok.

One on the right looks like the one form their website (coin attached, smaller Lady F)- http://www.pamp.com/mintedingots/AU00RI022S101

Weight difference is quite small so could be something as a little bit more packaging. I think XRF goes through plastic so would be better to do that first.

Thanks for the advice, I'll try that first. Some dealers in Sydney have told me they can't 100% test something without cutting it in half, they said if the gold plating is thick enough a fake could pass as legit.

I'm just surprised the design varies in so many ways, front and back. I have a few other pamps and they are all different in design to this one, they all weight 37.6g exactly. This one weighs 38.1g

I've been bitten once before by fakes it's not a nice experience if you need an explanation into my paranoia ;)

    brother Joey,

Can you go back to the place/seller you've purchased it from? contact them immediately.....

Damn... so many getting funny metals lately..... Last time I've bought PAMP was 4 years ago....then came the NY tungsten scandal... for GOLD, I now only buy PERTH MINT .....If you are in OZ land,,,,, obviously, if you are in other country buy only local brands.......

BE VERY VERY CAREFUL WITH CHINESE COPIES......

The first decorative motif ever to embellish a precious metal bar, PAMP's distinctive Lady Fortuna design is famed the world over as assurance of PAMP quality and authenticity. Here, the Roman goddess of prosperity is portrayed with all of her mythical attributes: Sheaves of wheat, poppies, Horn of Plenty, precious coins, and Wheel of Fortune.

The photo(yours) is not as clear but, I think the left one is not right.... the wheat tiara, the back of the head and the wheel of fortune are all a bit different....

You must know who you've bought from... you should get back to them ASAP......

No1joey can you take some better higher rez images? Hard to see detail in the images you got now.

The image APMEX has on it site looks like the image on the left. So i think you are safe with both from what i can see so far.

Im very interested to hear what PAMP have to say. And if it is legit, why the design changes so much. Very poor for such a big brand.

    Thanks No1joey.
Well one looks like the image on PAMP site and the other looks like the image on AMPEX site. So i think it's a safe bet they are both good.

    Poor QC from PAMP

I don't think it's poor QC from PAMP - more of a deliberate design/die change between the A series and B series.

Why would they go out of their way to make very small changes? This just make fakes easier to pass by, as people think small variations are ok and over look it.
Either they make a big change or it should be 100% the same. Regardless of the reason, its very poor in my eyes.
