Hi Stacker's, I have a 1/2 oz Perth Mint, Australian Bicentenary, WA at World Expo 88, round ingot. It has the PM swan emblem on one side and "The Perth Mint 1/oz fine, Western Australia at world expo 88" on the other. If anyone is able to give some more information on the mintage or value of this it would be greatly appreciated as I have a person interested in buying it but have had no luck working out a value. Thanks. I have a couple of these older 1/2oz Perth Mint ingots and from memory paid about $40-45 above spot for it. Don't think it will be easy retailing it for more than $60 above spot. Only way to be sure is to auction it here.
$60 over spot seems fair. Not a huge collector market for gold bars identifiable in Australia - at least not one willing to pay premiums.
Thanks guys, if the person who is interested offers above $60 over spot I will take it and if not back into the safe it goes! Cheers. Danny
