    We had a visiting lecturer give us a somewhat-abbreviated talk as part of a local campaign to address a rather in-your-face development proposal. He is the author of a book; my neighbour won a copy in the raffle and I got to read it.

    I recommend it to anyone who has a sneaking feeling that the ordinary citizen is getting screwed.

    Me too! But I thought it had more to do with Congress members being allowed to do insider trading on their stock market.

    I didn't know that the only State that effectively prevents 'windfall' property profits is ACT - they tax it to oblivion.
