When your government is led by unelected technocrats who at a whim institute unlawful tax grabs - such as introducing crippling new property taxes which will drive many people off of their properties - then i say F..CK EM!!! and any resultant resistance to this legislated theft by the state should be encouraged and good luck to them i say!!

Of course big government lovers such as yourself will always applaud the legislated theft by governments due to your collectivist/communist mentality.

    Got any Greek friends YKY?

Tax avoidance and the cash economy is a way of life over there - not something that's just popped up post-GFC.

Play the ball, not the man.

Your type seems to believe "the taxman" is above the law!
Arbitrarily passing some legislation which supposedly gives the taxman the right to bypass the courts and steal money belonging to somebody else does NOT make it lawful!

I say that such draconian unlawful action by the state should be resisted by anybody and everybody who values freedom and who has a sense of right and wrong as defined in the English system by Common Law. Governments who are stripping citizens of those rights and protections deserve to be forced out of power.

    It's time for a revolution ...

If everyone is avoiding tax and the majority of business is conducted in the "cash economy" then you'd be a better man than me to be a martyr and take the high moral ground. For one you'd be a serious disadvantage whenever it comes to trying to outbid everyone else for goods and services because you'd have less available cash

Do you mean something like this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ckcH0Wrmy74 . He's still going to make us pay for carbon sir, he's just going to call it something else. Notice how he doesn't say anything about how much this tax will be. Since all these mining companies and these manufacturing industries are lobbying him, I wouldn't be surprised if they got exempt from the tax and he'll just put all the burden on us instead.

If I lived in Greece or Spain and I was lucky and wise enough to have some spare fiat euros, I would be buying gold and silver!

    Regards Errol 43

Edit spelling.. Nearly posted that I would be burying gold and silver. :) :) :D

Errol, you are correct. Do a quick search, heaps of articles online about Hellenes buying up gold.

Others have also wired their money to overseas bank accounts.
