Hi all, I have been in the PMs stacking game since 06 and recently switched my super into an SMSF with AU and AG. I am one of those who sees PM investing could lead to significant capital gains and not just wealth preservation. This is because i have seen the figures for the amount of "paper" assets out there and I also know that the system is doomed to fail and soon (fractional reserve banking, peaking of global oil production rates), it only takes a fraction of the money fleeing from paper into PMs (amongst other physical investments) for them to go through the roof. I am liking AG more than AU due to the higher multiples I can see in it. Apparently for the 1000 ounce AG bars used by industry and for ETFs equate to about 1 billion - 1.2 billion ounces which at today's prices is about 30 billion dollars! That is a very small amount of money compared to the paper money out there that if trust in the system fails would flee to physical safe havens. That said, I see it sort of like insurance for a house. You dont really want to have to claim because it means your house burnt down! (or in a real life example, the global economy is "going Greek!") Then again, if you own a house in the bush and you smell and see smoke you want this insurance! Just sayin. Anyways, looking forward to continuing to learn from this forum! Cheers Mike Knowledge is NOT power... unless appropriate and timely action is taken with it!
Mikta! Welcome to SS, the home of the silver barons. Jump on the roller coaster and enjoy the ride. Regards Errol 43
