Advice on this trade. New member posted item first, received item all good. Now when i transfer the money it bounces, and just realised its costing me $2.50 for each rejection. Only realised this after i transferred the second time (which is still processing). I double checked the details and they are exactly the same as the first details given for the first attempt to transfer.

Is the seller liable for fees?

    or

Do i just send it back Pay on Delivery?

Might be something best discussed with the seller?

Contact the buyer and ask them to really confirm their account details.

Its easy to make a mistake when you're copy-pasting a number sequence because it is hard to remember.

You're lucky it bounced rather than going into someone else's account. Getting back funds from a successful but erroneous transfer is a real pain.

I've had this happen with a seller from a typo with the account number. Sucked up the fee - wasn't much in the scheme of things, and it was a genuine mistake.

I'm guessing seller will contact you eventually cause they want to be paid.

What wrcmad said. You got the goods, now surely the seller will want their money. Wait for a response :)

I'd suggest if they have the "email" functionality enabled try that too - PMs can get into spam boxes sometimes.

At least it's the right way around - you have booty that you've paid $2.50 for!

Im an honest person, I'm more concerned about any stress the seller may be going through.

I am sure that the member will either contact you after a couple of days or read this and go "that sounds pretty familiar".

Does said member have an email? Send them an email...

I've been in this situ a number of times trading through here - its a pain in the arse... but your powerless to do anything until they've contacted you. It's rather annoying to try and contact them straight away when your making a cash deposit in a branch with the wrong details... Frustration isn't even the word.

My best advice, give them time - after all if you just tried twice and then announced to a public forum that your having difficulty getting the right details its clear that your a straight up guy!

I agree - I apologize if I indicated you should in anyway profit from the seller's mistake - more that at least the energy will tend to flow in your direction - you've done all you can to try to rectify.

I'm sure it will sort itself out (and I see your name change helps us distinguish between the two of you ;) )

Problem sorted. Must be HSBC's new way to rape fees from people. Same details entered twice, failed once. Glad it worked out. Yes new name to prevent any issues
