    What the heck is going on with Perth Mint? They are starting to look like those late night TV 'mints' and the Royal Canadian Mint with it's sequined and lipsticked 'coins'. Get ONE great design per animal, set a limit and go for it.

    Turns out Perth is looking like a numismatic trollop instead of a virgin bride.

    I think I'll go back to the simplicity, even boredom, of Mexican Libertads.

    'Fourth release'? Jeez...

    I like the clean lines of their kilo bars but just keeping track of what the produce in one line (lunar) - well, it is overwhelming for this old man.

    Your solicitation confuses me. According to the Perth Mint website list I gave, the 1 kilo pig has a denomination of 3000. Even if AUD that is a great distance from 30, as in your photo.

    It's not a "solicitation". Has a denom of 3000 what? All PM kilo coins have a face value of far less than actual value.

    GCM= fail.

    I stand corrected. I was looking at the gold list for a 1 kilo pig, so to speak. *Its* denomination is 3000 AUD. A fiction of course, but a more costly fiction than $30.

    I am withdrawing from this forum until we can get some substantive conversation going on coin collecting/investing. I am reminded of an expat forum in Cambodia where there was a lot of posts with no real content that required research and thoughtful consideration. Just posturing. Not for me. In that case the marketers had their friends and allies keeping the forum active but without investigative reports. As a publisher of how-to travel info in the 1990s I have always had a distaste for opinions instead of facts that can be acted upon. Bon voyage fellow crows who like the shiny stuff. I will look elsewhere for a serious forum. I welcome a sense of humour and try to keep one myself. But no point my posting unless and until I have something useful to say.

    What a pity, it was fun having you around while it lasted.

    Perhaps you can try other serious forums like kitco.com

    Just be careful not to get banned within a day :)
