    Interesting story on local notes.

The optimist in me says that perhaps copper, silver and gold might support these 'trading tokens' at some stage.

Nimlets were used in Nimbin and there was an attempt to get something similar going up in Maleny a few years back.

I have been collecting them for around 10 years now, I have about 70 different community currencies from around the world, about 10 years is a good life span for them, they rely heavily on the energies of volunteers and when they burn out the currencies tend to fail.

Are you going to collect some of the English ones?

What sort of quality are the Australian notes? Monopoly money or more sophisticated?
