Could we have a different category for dealers instead of member I'm not talking about the sponsors I'm talking about members who are actually dealers & don't advertise so , unless you click website link Seems to be quite a few who do nothing but paddle they're wheres & don't participate in anything else
No Just sick newbies coming along pretending to be dealers Had a few pm's from a few on the subject & outing them , very interesting info
Dealers are supposed to disclose their commercial nature to the forum administrator as a condition of participating on the board. No AUSTRAC registration, no play.
We have been looking at this for at least 3 months. From where we sit, we would be best off closing down the forum and putting the money into a website, staying a site sponsor and trading from the trading platform. There are plenty of dealers trading from the trading forum without the costs involved running their own sub forum, let alone disclosure that they are bullion dealers. Will evaluate things over the next few weeks, at this stage we are at boarder line on pulling the pin.
What defines a 'dealer'? * Someone who turns over $x amount in the trading forum? * Someone who has a registered business in trading bullion? * Someone who derives their primary income from trading bullion? It is probably worth defining somewhere. Just saying.
There's a fair few members who would probably fail an ATO audit of hobby activities and be considered to be carrying on a business.
