    "BEIJINGChina's consumer price index rose 5.3% on year in April after climbing 5.4% in March, in its sharpest surge in nearly three years. Food prices, the main driver of the nation's inflation of late, were up 11.5% in April after climbing 11.7% in March, China's statistics bureau announced on Wednesday."

    wow nearly 12% food inflation. I wonder what their wage growth is like.....surely a revolt will be in order soon

    My parents wage increased more than 30% this year. They all retired and live in Beijing.

    As long as growth reasonably outpaces inflation no one will be too worried. When inflation is equal to growth it's a zero sum game and people just get tired of changing price stickers!

    This is only valid if you don't have much money in bank account. Clearly explained why Chinese people buying gold/silver like crazy these days.
