BB's first offering that sold out was priced at $35.95, so the current price of $46.44 is just... Well it aint "Hi ho Silver, awayyy!" its more like, "Whoah horsey... whooooooooohhhwww!".
not to get confused. but worldbubble, your perception and allegation seems unfounded. BB has wide customers base, so for one of its customer to snap up 300 horses a click is not unusual. @ 36+ @43 might be took a bit longer, but buying them is comparatively similar to 39 usd when APMEX was selling them for. need to verify that timing. one side and the other of the world, day vs night. @ 46...not moving, since APMEX is still going for 39 usd.. so logically once APMEX is sold out, we will find out how is the going at BB but the PM will be on sale too.
alor, I have no problem with price increase itself the problem is how it is being done. One thing when dealer increase the price to meet demand or follow the spot, another is when dealer increases the price for the sake of increase without actual demand at the time and does it within several hours (explained it in previous message). That's the first time I've noticed such a behavior
It all boils down to: it is their items and they can sell it for whatever price their business model pegs it at. if you think it is expensive then move on and look for someplace cheaper.
I would think that the pricing is done by computer programming, and the updating part may be by 15 minutes intervals, with some averaging smothering model ? and the second part, is that spot is in usd, so there are two variables in play here.. usd and aud and at the same time spot is moving. if you are monitoring spot too closely, then it will influence your take on the coin price, they are two separate markets. hence more variables to fine tuned on. some-more you are using JPY... there is additional mix to the variables. anywway better enjoy the coin rather than the price.
alor, have spot moved recently 9% within the hrs? then computer programming has nothing to do with price change at BB ... purely man done. buy from goldstackers or bullionlist ... bullionbourse is the place if the previous two has nothing in stock
I'm hoping I can get more still...got a lot of demand for them, but already sold out of the 300 I was allocated Will find out about another 1000 by tomorrow from the looks of it.
Very well said! Totally agree. There are some many coins out there that are "overpriced", but we don't complain for every one. As I've stated many times. If you don't like prices don't buy. We are living in capitalistic world where money is the real god or ruler of the world. All people who want to have the most of their business would try to get as much money as possible.... If there will be demand for coins at higher price they will keep that price, if not they will lower it. Or maybe not, maybe they sold enough already.
No wonder theses horses are so popular! Simply beautiful. I may have to go over my limit of 100!! http://youtu.be/94ti48MFZZg
its just not possible for buyer to be buying as below as possible. where as sellers could not be selling as high as the sky, there is a market price range. the market prices tend to be closer to the last transacted prices.
Some recent prices for 1oz horses in US dollars not including shipping (& add on cc or PayPal charges) 38.83 BB 37.55 Gainesville (current best for US?) 38.98 APMEX 39.99 WSD 36.48 Silver Corner (expensive shipping to US, unless you buy a lot) Seems like BB is not that bad after all!
I posted this on the other forum I frequent the most, but I will extend the offer to members of this forum as well... I got an extended allocation and now will be getting 1000 of these horses in total. (The time below is in EST). The price point below is the same as the initial price I had released the coins at. Shipping prices: $10 flat to Canada + $2 per item (a pack of 5 or tube of 20 count as 1 item) $15 flat to USA + $2 per item (a pack of 5 or tube of 20 count as 1 item) - $10 Shipping available if you do not need tracking and pay by paypal gift World shipping - Rates Vary between $40-$50 flat up to 1kg
I notice that Ainslie hasn't put up any Lunar Horses yet... typically they set a pretty good standard for premiums... I called them last week and they said they wouldn't put them online until they received the stock...
Ainslie Bullion have put huge premiums on all of their silver coins recently. Wouldn't count on getting cheap Lunars there anymore. They used to be the cheapest but not anymore.
