I think the others in the series are nicer, the jaw and some of the details look kind of funky to me but it is still pretty cool

It's not a bad coin but the Cougar's arms and legs look like they were borrowed from Arnold Schwarzenegger.

If you are into Maples you'd buy the cougar instead because of its lower mintage and the fact that you can buy them for the sample premium as a 2012 maple.

The only problem with the Canadian Wildlife series is they are very prone to milk spots. From what I have read, this is caused at the mint and there is not much than can be done about it. A quick google search will turn up some interesting reading. While this is fine for a bullion coin, not so great if you trying to sell at a premium - that's my opinion anyway, I wouldn't pay extra for a milk spotted coin.

I do have some of each (cougar, wolf, grizzly), think they are a nice design - even if the cougar looks a bit strange :) - and over half of them are spotted.

Not trying to put anyone off them, just a bit of info so you can make an informed decision.

    Another fellow Gold Coaster :)

None for sale - unless you want to offer a ridiculously unrealistic price
I only have a few of each - I like them and will continue to add to the series when the next issue comes out :).
The way I see it is they are very popular, limited mintage, .9999 purity, well known and part of a yearly release - all good signs (fingers crossed) that they should do well.

Haha I'll pass on your offer! But thanks all the same. Where did you find yours? I looked on Apmex but you have to spend $1500. (almost convinced myself to buy 40 odd).

Got them from Maggie here on SS. Give her a PM, she may have a few laying around or will be able to get you some. Could always try a wanted post in the sale section, might be able to shake a few loose from peoples stacks :)

The next release should be really interesting. Questions are:

    1. Can they possibly make the next animal even uglier than the Cougar?

    2. The series is of Canadian Wildlife. Why are first 3 of only 6 coins all predators?
