Hi guys and gals. I have been interested in gold and silver bullion for quite some time. A few years ago I had 11 1000oz bars that I kept under my sideboard. I am looking to buy some more just to keep as insurance. But this time I want it in 1oz tradable stuff. I do have a question though! What is involved in becoming a dealer ? I have been looking around the net to see if there are any special regulations and can't find any. If its not too involved I might think about giving it a go. Also, after doing a bit of research, (which is sometimes easy since the invent of the Internet) I see that there is a huge difference in mark up between Aussie prices from dealers and US prices. Why? Still working my way around this web site. Looks great. Keep up the good work
Sorry guys. A bit about myself. Live in Geraldton 400 Kim's north of Perth. Looking to semi retire soon. Still have a pommy accent. Been an Aussie for the past 37 years. 17 when I arrived from the Uk. Revert to being A pom when the ashes are on..love my football. Work for myself at the moment, but in the throws of chucking it in. Gonna be doing some prospecting in Yalgoo pretty soon too. For the English residents on here. Baggies fan.
Hi and welcome! 11 x 1000oz bars aint no joke! Would be nice to to see what you can offer, especially if there is a huge difference in mark up between Aus prices from dealers and US prices.
Don't do it There are enough " want to be " dealers around And there isn't as much $ as you would think Want to be a dealer buy out another business & carry on
Welcome Phil To be perfectly frank, you have enough ounces to be a bullion dealer however what you have is too difficult to shift. It is too bulky and expensive to transport and buyers will be scarce unless you are happy dealing with lowballers You need to find a bunny who will exchange their 30 x 1kg bars for one of your 1000 oz bars. I know a dealer in Sydney who will probably pay you close to 98% of spot for those 11 bars however the logistics of getting it to Sydney will probably cost you an arm and a leg. Wish you well with your venture Cheers
I don't make myself very clear do I? If you lot do a course in mental telepathy we will be talking from the same page. Unfortunately I don't have those bars anymore. I stuffed up with a financial decision. It cost me big time and I had to sell the lot to stay afloat. I can't imagine the paperwork being that bad. I was a copper for 18 years in Perth. And in the fraud squad for a while ....now that's paperwork!! Still on my calculations buying in the US and getting it delivered to Oz seems like about a 25% saving going on What Aussie bullion dealers want. I am just working off 1oz Buffalo rounds. Just trying to keep things simple. Using my calculations 1oz of silver has an intrinsic value of 1oz of silver. Surely the name of the game is to get as close as possible to spot as you can who cares about what's on the wrapper. Anything else become coin collecting. Nothing wrong with that by the way. But that's not what I am looking for. I am looking for insurance against our government, the monetary system and those power elite bastards world wide that think we are all sheep and treat us as such. Can I say bastard on here by the way?
I would suggest you check the currencies you are comparing - you're probably comparing USD prices in the US with AUD prices in Australia. There's no way that Buffalos are 25% cheaper in the US.
Well Bullion Bourse currently has monster boxes of ASEs for $13,000 which is AUD$26 per oz Spot is currently AUD$21.25 How cheap are they in the US ? How much is shipping and insurance ? Or perhaps Phil is looking at the spread between single coin prices and volume pricing
Thanks for the welcome folks I appreciate it. Going on the info that I have you are right. I was guessing at 25% and somewhat hopeful. But there is definitely a saving of about 10% looking at like for like. And the price that I have been given includes shipping and insurance. Just google Roxanne Lewis bullion and you will get the website easily enough.
haha I googled 'Roxanne Lewis bullion' and I found.... this thread! Gee those google bots are damn quick
