If this is true I'm in a conundrum. Dollar up, silver down which is good. However, I'm waiting on some money from Europe on a property sale. The price was negotiated at AUD1.10 so I have made 15% since the dollar dropped. Should it go back up before the money is paid - bugger.

Maybe you should have negotiated the deal in BTC. :)

We should follow Jim Rickards' advice

Issue bonds, or buy gold with printed money.

We also need to cut taxes!! and blow off the international taxes to the UN and build military infrastructure - we have almost zero modern ground and coast defences

I am not sure how treasury notes actually work, but I am surprised at the short term of both of them at 24/1/2014 and 7/3/2014.

I get the feeling that there is something very wrong with our finances.

    Whoah.....what a problem
Gold broke through the $1250 mark and has been moving inversely to the u.s. dollar..............
I was watching to see the u.s. dollar moving up.............and unless the aus dollar breaks the current inverse relationship to the u.s. dollar then I would have thought that the aussie is heading lower for a while.
    Just my thoughts of course...........
