Just wondering if there is any difference between a typical Silver Kook, Eagle coin or Buffalo vs a $5 Maple silver bullion coin? Looking at 1 ounce silver coins - is it all just silver at the end of the day???
pretty much all the same stuff. all comes down to preference. although some people say a silver eagle is easier to get rid of but if your selling back to a broker they'll take anything. best to have a collection of a few type of coins
i worry about forgary and thus the more changes and smaller mintages the better as retooling is harder/costlier for the forgers, thus less incentive. lunars win for me in this circumstance with buffalo rounds coming in last place. But having a spread as digger said is good as the best as having the real thing is the best bet for being able to spot a forgary
Thank you for replies.... I am buying different coins for the fun and to show the kids and at the end of the day it would be good to have a range of coins, knowine that you think it is a good idea is fantastic to hear....not so good for my wife as it competes against her spending...
