Just wondering if any dealers/suppliers know:

    a) When the design will be available?

    b) When the release date this year is scheduled?

    c) How the allocation to Australian dealers will be decided? ie. are we going to repeat the stupidity of last year when the bulk went to a few foreign dealers?

    1. Have not heard of firm embargo dates, but images are not yet available to distributors.

    2. Release is Monday 3rd September.

    3. At this stage there has been no decision on allocations announced to distributors, other than at this stage, no allocations are in place.

Refer to the COMLAW Currency Determinations for a description of the design - it's been referenced a few times on here already, and I think Bullion Baron blogged about the design.

No images are publicly available, however myself and a few other distributors have had the privilege of seeing pre-production samples, and it's a totally new design for 2013.

Got an update today - as well as a hands on look at a production 1oz silver snake - its the second time I've seen the design, and I think the final production version is pretty good.

There will be distributor allocations in place for the 1oz silver and 1oz gold coins, which remain at 300,000 and 30,000 for the series.

Only pretty good? How does it compare with the series 1 snake ?

Series 1 snakes in proof are stunning.

Just to re-iterate this - please do not post images of the 2013 Lunar Snake coins on Silver Stackers prior to their launch. They are copyright protected images under a commercial embargo by the copyright owner.

If the "leaked" images are real, then the gold snake looks like shiiite IMO.

Is the bullion version definitely going to have the same design as the proof? I wonder why some of S1 have different designs between bullions and proofs?

Isnt the dog the only one with a different design? I do not know why they did that other than everyone has their favorite dogs and German shepherds are popular as are retrievers and labs so they wanted to reach out to more people, thats the only thin I can figure.
