I've been trying to collect any back years koalas in the last couple of months, the last and the most difficult one was 2008 then 2007, which I'm glad that I've finally got it, waiting for it to arrive though. Now I have a full set to-date (2007 - 2011) :)

No, they are a carded 1oz. I have a few 2007's and 2008's I'm squatting on. The 1/10oz carded only came out in 2011 to cash in on rising silver prices at the time.

    2007 carded mintage of 3,060
    2008 carded mintage of 4,601
    2009 carded mintage of 6,292

The Mintage of the 2011 should be well over 500K, considering the lunar rabbits and 2011 kooks have been sold out for about a year theres been no other bullion to get from Perth Mint.. The Dragons and 2012 Kooks got snatched up ultra fast.

Look for back-date koalas and hope they mass produce them from now on to increase demand in earlier years.

Carded.. the capsule is in a card which also acts as a COA - teeny inny mintage!

I just received my 2012 koalas today.

The die strike looks verry weak, the koalas look very flat compared to the dragon coin.

Pandas and koalas are fairly similar animals and yet the pandas are amazing and the koalas are YUK! Design and implementation fail!

agreed but pandas are amazing, and koalas are perths second coin, it would be more fair to compare pandas to kooks

After seeing those picks i've decided not to get a roll of them. Infact i wont be getting any. If all the strikes are like that, its pathetic. It makes the gilded dragons look great. It looks like a picture of a koala. Hardly raised off the coin surface at all. think i'm glad to of spent money on the dragon rectangle set after seeing these. Once again a rished PM has produced a shocking strike on this.
