    as hideous as that koala is, for some reason i actually kinda like how it's claws stick out on the border of the coin.

    thats really fortunate cos you'll have a whole twelve months worth of supply in all likelyhood being the only 1oz silver bullion thats issued with an unlimited mintage by perth mint in 2012.

    I like the kangaroo. Much better than the 2011 version, although my favorite is still the 2010 boxers. The Kook gives me the heebee jeebies. :) My initial reaction on the koala is that it is not that bad. Because of the unlimited mintage, I probably won't get any, but I don't think it is ugly like most people seem to think.

    i just can't see myself buying any at all, the premium on perth mint coins generally is too high, a couple of lunars and a 10oz kook for the collection and that's me for perth mint each year. There's many other better value purchases to be had if you know where to look.

    Re: the whole 'unlimited mintage' thing. I would like to know what the final mintage ended up being on the 2011 koalas. I dare say it would be a lot less than ASEs or even probably pandas. I guess the number won't be released til next year some time.
