Is this what everybody buys when their bank balance is higher than their IQ??

Gainesville prices are placeholders, that means they just put it there because the system demands a price or a safeguard against accidental release (ppl will be thinking 1800 times before paying 1800 for 1 oz silver).

I noticed that the 2012 kooks are priced normally. I still plan on calling Gainesville on September first, have them look up my account and then tell them that I have no interest in doing business with price gougers. If they try to say anything, I will mention that the PM has already publicly stated that they did not mark up the coins. So they can kiss the $125000 of business goodbye for future years. Same for Apmex. I sure hope the 4th Canadian Wildlife coin (March) is better than the last few disastrous designs or price gouging coins we have been experiencing lately.

Of late I've been seriously considering following Stellaconcepts' lead, and swapping out all my high premium Perth Mint Silver coins for generic bars...and I think this episode has just about convinced me :/

put them on sale, like the person with S1 lunar set, who is selling for 1200 each set, good money if you convert them back to kilo bars. :D

Only if they think they can find a buyer with an even higher bank-balance to IQ ratio.

If you could sell them for $200 then buying them at $90 makes perfect sense!

However I am not that open to risk so I will just be getting one or two.

I'm worried about the cash transaction in the middle. Would be interesting explaining to the ATO/Austrack how a decade's worth of savings (hidden as silver) magically appeared in my account over the period of a couple of weeks/months.

I'm not sure the old Father Ted excuse of "The money was just 'resting' in my account" would cut it

I thought the ato is for the cashless society, no cash for the ato, all silver for you.

so you explain, I am just trading them, no cash involved here!. no need to realized capital gain, just weight gain/weight upgrade

At this price i think you wont find somebody selling. Cheapest Dealer in germany offers them on 63.
Maybe the real mania on Lunar coins (in australia) is in the beginning phase. ( Phase 1-3)

I germany i think its at minimum phase 2. Phase 1 startet in 2010.

Swapping dragons against tigers. No chance in germany. There are a lot of tiger owners but nealy nobody
has or was able to buy dragons under 50-60 . So no reason to swap.
Maybe price will drop a bit, but at 60 it should find its bottom.

You have the chance to get some at perth or you have preordert at 40AU$ a few weeks ago.
Is it sure bullionbo*** is able to deliver the presold dragons. All Dealer got a big haircut on their orders.
Hope people who have preordert will not only see a refound and a "sorry"

Bullion bourse has delivered to some happy customers, making them on of the earliest people to receive dragons before the launch date.

You can see it in the threads here, search bullion bourse.

BullionBourse only delivered on 20 coins correct? ie if you ordered 100 or something then your order was cutback to 20 and the rest refunded? Just out of interest if anyone is in this boat ?

We saw our first 1oz silver 2012 dragon trade in the forum today. 4 x 1oz for 1 x 5oz. That puts a 25% premium for 1oz dragon over other perth mint bullion. Somebody check the maths! :)

Also we are seeing a roll of 1oz Dragons for gold offer underway in the trade section.

Over the coming days and weeks, it will be very interesting to see what our local market decides is a fair premium for these.

    Depends how you look it. A 25% mark up, (4 x 1.25 =5) but 4 is 80% of 5 leaving a 20% difference. :/
I guess how you worded it would be correct - a 25% premium for 1oz dragon over other perth mint bullion.
To me that reads 4oz's plus another 25% = 5 oz's, and that means you get an A+
    Somebody please check my maths!

You have purchased 6 figures from gainesville, which in the world of precious metals is pretty small. To me personally it is massive, but to huge dealers like apmex and gainesville, they won't even care.

If your orders are 7 figures and above for silver, I have no doubt gainesville will be more accomodating. However they have plenty of 6 figure customers, so don't expect special treatment or special deal.
