Don't think they released it locally, saw some for sale on eBay SG though. As for worth, hell who knows (Assuming you mean non color)
Yep straight silver proof - just like the 1oz proof that's now selling for 285-325 (I've just been offered 2 @ 65 each) - og issue price was 67
Heard that the 1/2 oz proof dragon was made by PM for sale in Russia... Saw a few people selling it on ebay germany.
1/2 ounce coins are always a devil. They are perennial failures. Name for me a 1/2 ounce coin that's ever done any good (compared to a 1 or 2 ounce).... now name the ones that haven't.... I think the haven'ts have it !
Doesn't exist except as part of the 3 coin set, according to the Perth Mint website. Do they come in boxes with COAs ? Are you sure somebody hasn't put a 1/2 oz bullion coin in a generic perth mint case ? I've seen people trying that trick on ebay recently.
The 1/2 silver dragon proof does exist on it's own, mintage 4,000 (plus 1,000 for the the 3-coin set). One sold recently on ebay, bit too expensive for me but they are very hard to find, this is the only one I have seen. 250923719849
Anyone know where these were issued? Only in Europe? That ebay listing was from Hungary. I suppose there might be some 2 oz individual proofs floating around somewhere in the world as well ?
As far as I know, the 1/2 silver proofs were only released in Europe. Pretty sure there are no 2oz proofs sold individually - usually the 2oz proofs are coloured coin show specials. The mint makes 1,000 2oz proofs of each lunar coin and they are all made to go in the 3-coin proof set. Also, they make 5,000 1/2oz, 1,000 for the 3-coin set and the other 4,000 for the European market. (All these figures available from PM website in their sales/mintage figures) EDIT: Seems I may be wrong, I see there is currently a PM 2oz Proof Rooster for sale here, so maybe the 1,000 limit for 2oz does NOT include the 3-coin set?
The Rooster is a 1st series issue. For the 2nd series there wasn't any 2oz proof coin issued individually.
