Peter Schiff Tax Evasion - ATO Operation Atlantis

Also evasion is when you knowingly lie, then sign your name to it.
Avoidance is doing neither and signing your name to nothing.

As soon as you sign your name you are saying its truthful under penalty of law.

Evasion has criminal penalties after you've basically incrementated yourself with your signature and your tax forms are found to be wrong.
Avoidance has no criminal penalties because it's not a crime.

At least in the us. Cant speak for other places of course.

Offshore accounts can have legitimate purposes. For example, they can hold money for multi-national businesses. But former Australian Federal Police officer and financial crime expert John Chevis has also seen them used to stash untaxed and undeclared income, aided by bankers who, even if they may not have direct knowledge of what their customers are up to, are willing to exploit legal loopholes.

And the problem with exploiting legal loopholes is?....
Don't want them exploited?, close them.

The real reasons behind Operation Atlantis seems to be an expansion of money laundering laws that would in effect strip away client legal privilege and also implement other globalist agendas.

Banking laws require bank employees to secretly report customers to government authorities, if they tip-off the customer they can face huge fines $300K+ or even criminal charges.

Imagine going to a lawyer to discuss legal offshore investments or for asset protection. Then finding out your conversation has been secretly reported to the ATO so they can put you on their internal watchlist.

Anti-money laundering laws must cover lawyers and accountants

Yet the Herald’s reporting this week on global tax evasion schemes suggests these two examples are the tip of the iceberg. While national regulators, such as the Australian Tax Office and Australian Transaction Reports and Analysis Centre (AUSTRAC), appear to be tackling the problems, the federal government needs to do more to regulate the lawyers, accountants and other professional enablers who lawfully facilitate the global flow of black cash.

...

Unfortunately, those involved in setting up and managing the international cash transfers can operate with relative impunity because of gaping holes in Australian law.
...

The OECD is about to start another round of assessments to identify countries which have failed to comply with the rules. If he gets the job, Senator Cormann will have to ask why the government in which he served has failed to do what it has promised for more than a decade.

Well worth watching Peter's Rebuttal on YouTube ... If it hasn't been shadow banned.

Hatchett job at best.

Ben from Perth Bullion and I were on his table at a dinner function with him 5 years ago. What a trip! He told us he planned to move to Peurto Rico soon.

Channel 9 and The Age have lost all my respect.

I'm surprised they had any respect with you to begin with!

His response is pretty detailed. Would be interesting to see the full interview if it's ever released

First rule of media interviews: RECORD IT FROM YOUR SIDE!

Seen it in other interviews to do with banking but when they say criminals had bank accounts with xxx bank I can't help but think how many criminals have accounts with the big in oz...

Then if you use cash they try to make out you're a criminal, the media might as well just start shooting people
