Any thought on Silver Bullets - A gimmick or what?

Yes they are a Gimmick, a very popular one. The 25oz big banger is awesome. Something different. Variety is the spice of life.

Total gimmick, but I think absolutely great. No silly paint job! No silly rhinestones! Just pure silver and I think there's a lot to be said for that.
Totally unique and well worth the (I think) slap-in-the-face premium. Plus--in the US, totally and stridently politically incorrect which I think
makes them all the more wonderful. I'm going to collect every size and caliber that they offer for sale. Can't wait for the 12ga to come out!

Hehe great piece! Saw them a while ago, but the taxes for importing it to europe held me off..
Does someone know if European dealers sell these?

Would be a great addition for my stack! :-)

The 10oz bullet arrived a few days ago (thanks to Iceblue) and think it's worth that extra bit more just for the novelty factor.
At around $30 more than a PM 10oz bar, won't be buying many but will definitely be getting the 25oz next just for the sake of having it.

I got a few of the one oz'ers and I like them a lot, now waiting for my 2 oz'ers to arrive

If it's the M60 a l First Blood, 100. Pew pew

Very gimmicky but that isn't always a bad thing.

I expect to see some selectively plated ones soon, gold plated cartridge with the silver slug would be nice, customised with your name engraved on the bullet.

I won't be getting any as I think it will be difficult recouping your premium when it comes time to sell them.

I love my 10 x 1oz rounds and my 10oz. I think I might have to get the 25oz too.

Morning all,

I am not into Collectables at all, but, I would watch the bullets range very carefully indeed. This just might be a seriously good investment.

Why?

Because 2013 is the year of The Lone Ranger

Trade mark silver bullets, 'hi ho Silver, away' --- Jonny Depp etc.

If this thing is a blockbuster, then god knows what popularities can spin off this.

This is one of the most popular legends of the last century - personally, I would be watching for the exact calibre that was carried.

It is possible a huge premium could build on these things, especially if they are small enough to wear.

Have a great day all :)

Btw

I think the ranger used

.45 Long Colt ------- .45 LC

Someone might want to check me on that, but I think it is correct.

These silver bullets are so famous Clayton Moore (the famous tv series ranger) used to give them away at parties and gatherings etc.

Two more types on the way; 1/4 oz. - .22 LR and a 5 oz. - 12 Gauge.

And some Lone Ranger silver trivia
Why does the Lone Ranger use Silver Bullets?

Silver bullets are the Lone Ranger's calling card. Silver is a symbol of purity. On the television show the Lone Ranger says he uses silver bullets as a symbol of justice, but more importantly, silver bullets serve to remind the Ranger of just how heavy a price firing a gun can be.

A side note: The Lone Ranger's horse, Silver, was shod with silver horseshoes!

Okay, so where did he get all of this silver from to make bullets and horseshoes and stuff?

The Lone Ranger had a silver mine that he and his brother, Dan, had planned on using for their retirement. A retired Texas Ranger named Jim Blaine (who knew the Ranger's secret) agreed to work it for him and make the silver bullets. The Lone Ranger and Tonto would periodically visit the old Ranger and stock up on bullets and more silver to use to buy goods. (This mine would be the basis of the fortune that built the Reid publishing empire in the Green Hornet.)
