Bitcoin: how I made a virtual fortune

Is anyone else here interested in bitcoins? I'm fascinated but haven't researched this interesting currency yet.... I heard an interview with an engineering student who made enough $ to fully pay for his degree.

According to one of my paid subscriptions that I have finally had time to read, it is $1200.

    The Lament of Mi$$ Honey

I'm not into shoes and handbags. Happy to accept diamonds though. Girly stuff must be a long term asset. I stubbornly refused all girly/meaningless birthday and Christmas presents for numerous years so that I could eventually justify a gift of some beautiful diamond earrings. I wear them...

    The Lament of Mi$$ Honey

Don' be disappointed. That was my husband. I stopped reading some time ago, although I do like to laugh at grammatical errors and the general poor quality of writing.

    The Lament of Mi$$ Honey

Oh why have I been so negligent to 'set and forget'...too busy to read SS and keep on top of my own investments! I am substantially in. I have rationalised to myself that I am SMSF long on silver and gold....30 years... Most of savings are all gold/silver, sold a bit recently to finish up...

If There Is One Thing I've Learnt From Investing in Silver.........

We hold real estate too. I was planning to sell SMSF silver to convert into property. Missed that boat for now. Oh why was I so greedy thinking it would go higher again soon.....!

Fibbonacci & Elliott Wave - gold price predictors

I'm back on SS after a very long break... Huge mistake on my part given the extremely valuable info on this site! I did sell a bit of gold before the other most recent sell off (the day before, by total chance). Just wondering if people on this site are still long term holders??? Best estimate...

Who Believes Groceries Are getting Expensive??

This is a really interesting discussion. Yes, I've noticed groceries are getting v expensive and large corporations are using all the tricks so that consumers pay more for less... Or fancy packaging etc etc. Take western star butter for example. It is now about five bucks for 500g. At aldi, the...

Mike Maloney 'Debt Collapse' is live, full 90 minute presentation

Just getting back to the Mike Maloney presentation for a bit ... Even if the price of gold/silver go to enormous highs, we all have to sell it in order to move into the other cycling asset class/es. Enormous gains means paying CGT on those gains. If hyperinflation occurs, the government...

Do you really think we should be stocking up on food?

Sure, I can PM those who are interested...still doing some research with my contacts and then I will compile a list with prices...the products etc will change depending on what's in season. I'm mainly talking farmer direct and having everything packaged in bulk bulk quantity. E.g., Flour...

What if you're a stacker with a mortgage?

As I've been away from researching the property market for some time, I have no idea what's happening around the country...just interested in what's happening in Brissie? Is it a post-flood issue or combination of factors?

Do you really think we should be stocking up on food?

I have access to being able to buy in bulk certain (short to med term lasting) Victorian grown/made perishables (e.g., fruit/veg/butter/flour/grains/honey etc)...I don't know how it could work with delivery etc but I've been thinking about putting up a list to see if this is something other...

SMSF Rule Change - PMs Must Be Insured Post June 30 ?

Interesting post...I agree with the person who stated that "bullion" is not referenced - just coins. I'm glad I've made up my mind to keep storing at a private vault ... with a generous amount of insurance.

    Spot Prices down? So what?

I'm assuming that this dip is just a "bear trap". Today, on Ainslie's website, they've posted great article titled 'Buy Silver Today - At A Discount' by Jeff Nielson, written 25 April 2011. But if you can't get silver, maybe it's time to buy up the gold...that's what I'm doing today...

    Assets and consumables in ounces

I'm a country girl and grew up on a 8000acre poroperty... You can do a lot though with a small acreage. I would suggest 10acres for a house and fruit trees, vegie patch, chooks and other animals. Remember that there are lots of multi-grafted fruit trees and also dwarf varieties for space...
