As a few of you know im on holidays & while checking the exchange rate i noticed the zimabawe dollar is only 388 for $1AUD seems those big notes that some have might be able to cash them in & buy that dream house!!! :p:

Is that currency still legal tender? I just had a great investment thought !!! lol

Im bored so i looked at all the currencies & the top 3 as in most for your aussie buck are : drumroll:

1... Vietnamese Dong at an astounding 21450

2... Iranian Real fades into insignificance at 10892

    3... Indonesian Rupiah at 8832

I know i need to get out more ....but its too damn hot outside

    Interesting Renovator...
Did a quick search and found this -

The First Zimbabwe Dollar (ZWD) is obsolete. In June 2006 it was replaced by the Second Zimbabwe Dollar (ZWN) at a rate of 1000 to 1. A third and fourth dollar were later introduced and then the currency was abandoned. Zimbabwe no longer has its own currency and Zimbabwe dollars of all types are worthless.

I wonder what they are useing and where the $388 comes from...

Can still get them in bulk on eBay-

The Zimbabwe Govt never paid the Austrian printer for the notes.... so technically , they were never 'legal'.

It would be a bit of a talking point, having a pile of Zimbabwe notes in the toilet. May stir up some controversy regarding fiat currencies.

But fiat currencies are far better than a gold standard! I have faith!

I had heard that the Zim dollar was no longer valid - and you would expect so surely otherwise there would be a country FULL of trillionaires now that prices had settled down.

I reckon you should take advantage of the good exchange rate with the Dong. I can't recommend Vietnam high enough. Fantastic place for a holiday and i got it when it was only 15,000:1. I still (try to) play my USD$30 mandolin!

I'd love one of those boats - tao? or something that has slipped my mind... But realistically can't justify that whim.

I've got a full set of Zimbabwe hyperinflation notes somewhere.

Got it for about $20 on ebay, seemed like a good idea at the time.
