I wouldn't mind a set or two of these coins but they are selling for about $10 on Ebay, which seems a little high as even the beggars in Zimbabwe refuse to accept them. Not sure I fully understand what a bond coin is anyway, the Zimbabwean Government stick some money in a bank to 'back' the coins, but they also say they have intrinsic value. So it sounds like they are paying twice the value for each coin, or something...
I thought it had something to do with the lack of coins as most daily transactions happen in USD which means you can't get change for anything under a USD $1 note or they may use a mixture of USD and South African Rand to give change.
They are currently using sweets and pens as small change, or rounding up to the nearest whole dollar, pound, yen whatever.
