Dodged a bullet! Fortunately an evening in Brisbane talking about the economy with young people is off the table as I am over the age limit! It isn't a terrible idea but you need a bit of diversity in your group, those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it. Most of the old time stackers have already made the mistakes you are about to make!
What happened to the Pikey? Does one of us need to arrange something? XB, you out there? Do you remember if the Norman charges for their room? Maybe we can go there.
There's the wise and the young. But never seen both in one. Good luck with your meeting. Grow old gracefully.
Looks like I am taking some serious stick on this post, which i can take. A couple of things: - I'm in the latter half of a degree. - I have worked full time since commencing my degree (I'm my area of study) to get ahead in life early (buying bullion). - I'm not a millionaire, however, i will be one day. - I don't know anyone who owns a helipad The directors of the company i work for started in the exact same position as I am today. They all got involved in young groups early on in their careers which has enabled them to develop friendships and gain clients which they socialize with today. They are rather encouraging for young people like myself to socialize and interact with <30ish individuals in society as 'we' will advance in society together (as a generation) and run companies which feed of each other later on in life. I look up to these older guys and take much advice from them, because I too would like to live the lives they do when in 40-50. Though older people can offer great advice associated with precious metals, property, economics or investing in general, i like to socialize with like minded younger individuals whilst at nice clubs. This is why i have put an EOI out there for younger individuals in Brisbane. My intention was to never offend any oldies on the forum, but rather offer an opportunity to younger members to feed of each other for the better good. I don't socialize at clubs with my father let alone any older forum members. A round of golf would be more the scene. Bellinvest.
So when your actually start looking for a job you will reconsider the discriminatory dismissal of your peers? p.s. Are you going to card people on entry because I just may be able to pass as an under 30?
I'm not sure what that means ? "Review the edit"? Regardless if we do meet on a Thursday nights can we meet early so we can wrap it up early, I do like getting to bed before 9pm on a weeknight so I can catch the early ABC news in the morning before work. If I don't get the ABC rundown then I'm lost trying to follow the AM on the drive in.
Damn and i was so prepared to wear my baseball cap back to front and my jeans around my knees, just to try and fit in Good luck with the meet young fellas hope you find some nice ASSets
Let the Gen Y stackers have their meet, they can talk about Facebook and iPhones and One Direction. Us old farts (which apparently means > 30yo) can have our own meet. I propose something handy and close to us, maybe the Rec Hall at Keperra Retirement Village or Mitchelton RSL. There is plenty of mobility scooter parking at either, and both have wheelchair ramps.
