Mate, don't know who you are or anything else, but threads on 'historical' things such as Rothschild 'actions' are not productive here. I'm sure a number of others will agree here that this is a light hearted thread - not the place to start throwing that sorta bumph around. Likewise - wishing you peace too - but lets just leave that sorta thing outta threads - causes far too many shitfights with so many people believing they know better.
Thats a great caption Macros. I am sure the Queen would comeback with a caption: "No it's not. The paints dry." Cheers markcoinoz
It's not her stack. The vast majority of that gold belongs to other countries. Seems the brits keep conveniently forgetting that fact.
Quite a weight on these shelves if you add it up. Surprised to see the racks still standing and not buckling. Maybe they are Lindt chocolate bars in gold foil wrappers on the shelves, ready for Christmas ? Didn't Gordon Brown sell ( i.e. gift ! ) most of our gold on the cheap ?
I've been told that the quote isn't that "If you hold it then the law is 90% on your side" but rather that 90% of the laws relate to possessions. That is, it's predominantly about things and not people
Certainly hope that principal doesn't apply to the gold the Perth Mint has in storage for it's client Bron
Perception Economics - Its all about the UK soon to be downgraded AAA rating and a "looky here we're backed with lots of gold"
Oops, busted http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Possession_is_nine-tenths_of_the_law Possession is nine-tenths of the law is an expression meaning that ownership is easier to maintain if one has possession of something, and much more difficult to enforce if one does not. This principle can be restated as: "in a property dispute (whether real or personal), in the absence of clear and compelling testimony or documentation to the contrary, the person in actual possession of the property is presumed to be the rightful owner. The shirt or blouse you are currently wearing is presumed to be yours, unless someone can prove that it is not" For the stuff in central banks vaults that has been leased on paper to someone else, the 9/10th saying means the people having the paper claim may have a harder time trying to get their physical. The saying I don't think applies to allocated or other arrangements where the documentation is clear on who owns it. In the end it all comes down to whether you trust your custodian (and that is something that can change over time).
