Well I thought I had two full sets. Turns out I don't. One is missing (presumed sold) and the other was traded thinking I had a spare. Doh!
Still missing the double mirror ram. Pretty sure I have all of the other versions but won't have a chance to drive out and have a look for a few days or so. Soon they'll release a 2014 Buff and in a couple of years the birds will probably do a Perth Mint on us all and add a wombat privy and a panda patina version to the collection.
2014 Buffalo is underway. So is another project or two. I have two full sets - had to buy a double mirror ram back from an SS member to complete the second set.
Out of a possible 12 XAG full sets, we only have a total of 7 complete..... So far! It will be interesting what these will fetch down the road when the type set increases with the additional rounds. Edit: 7 now
You can add 2 more to the "set" collection. Helps explain why people have paid $690 for a single m/m ram and over $200 for the m/f and f/m. Sorry if above stuff looks like a dating site ad.
Only 5 more opportunities to complete this typeset. That will leave only 13 opportunities for people to get both mirror frosted 25 mintage types for their collections. Hands up who has both, but not the m/m? I got 1 of one type and a few of the other.
Has anyone experienced milk spots with any of the XAG coins? Very interested in the (short) history of these coins.
Ditto. All spotless. Except the buffs have dings (as you'd expect). They look really good in capsules though.
No milk spots, but the Rams are less than perfect due to stamping issues when minted, except for the double-frosted version which had 300 good ones made. The XAG Pennys are fantastic quality, no minting issues with them whatsoever and they are imo the best looking of the range to date. The capsules seem robust, but they scratch very easily. Have now put all of mine into little baggys to stop them scratching more.
