Latest news is disease can spread even if carrier has no symptoms. No fever, no coughing.

A weapon that doesn't kill quickly - so it can be spread by carriers, and after it has done its purpose will maim the carrier and bog down the entire system.

This perfectly fits the purpose of a biological weapon.

You'll know when it gets serious when Ch 9 dedicates a whole digital channel 24/7 to cover the Coronavirus outbreak with Karl Stefanovic and Richard Wilkins drafted in to conduct on the ground reporting in China. :D

Sundstrom SR200 with a P3 filter. Must be fitted well. For serious conditions use the PAPR SR307 adapter for a positive airflow.

honestly if you need this you should be out of town and isolated.

If you're a many man with a beard you can kiss your ass goodbye. Only girly bald chin men will survive the apocalypse with their gas masks

I am in that category and it is not too bad with a beard if rightly fitted. Life or death scenario you need the PAPR. Positive airflow. Children also need this. Personally I think isolation is better option but someone asked about masks so.

    If genuine, then quite eerie.

The byproduct of the virus is how much the city lock downs hinder the productive output of the Chinese economy.
If this puts the Chinese economy into recession that would likely spread throughout the world despite the virus, not to mention the enormous cost and effort of re-starting a stalled economic engine of an economy the size of china.
This is likely playing on their minds.

I mean let’s consider two options.

    1. Living in Wuhan and having to go out and about with a good mask like sundstrom.

    or

    2. Living in the countryside. No visitors allowed. 3 months plus food supply.

I am going with the second option even though I own good masks.

Good point @harry_mr .If it gets worse and spreads further within China, I can see nations starting to block all movements (persons and trade) between their country and China. China as a nation could end up physically quarantined and then the global economic flu starts.

The point of that article is that the virus was stolen and taken to a Wuhan lab, which is 20 miles away from the seafood market where the first identified case of infection is known.

    A fishy story.

If you see any videos of Chinese people collapsing you need to keep in mind the fact that Chinese people loooooooove to jump queues. A friend works as an ambulance driver in Singapore where the Chinese are notorious for collapsing when they are afflicted with something that may require medical attention as it means bypassing the packed casualty waiting room by arriving in the ambulance. Top marks for acting.

Highly doubt it'll cause a recession unless it becomes the next Spanish Flu. China gets viral out breaks every so often. Has never slowed them down before.

What's the percentage of people that have gotten the virus and survived?
