I think we are well beyond liquidity when you cannot sell yr stuff for spot...some dealers not even paying spot anymore....
I can only think 1966 50c and frac gold lunar coins that are sold well in these interesting times. The rest seems off the grid....
What will get people excited again? Imagine another year or several of flat prices. It will grind people down.
I've noticed this happening every time we have movement. It happened at the beginning of the year with the price rises but then when things started moving slowly spot wise things picked up. Now we've had a big drop everyone is waiting to see how it pans out before they buy. I know for my part I was on a bit of a tare October-December last year and now nothing will seem cheap until we're either back below $19.50 or it looks like higher prices are coming so whatever the current spot is starts to look cheap in the promise of higher prices later.
A few quotes from Jesse Livermore 1. Money is made by sitting not trading 2. It takes time to make money 3. It was never my thinking that made the big money for me, it was always sitting. 4. The desire for constant action irrespective of underlying conditions is responsible for many losses on Wall Street. 5. Don't give me timing give me time. And most important...... 6. Buy right, sit tight So the answer to all these questions about doom and gloom in the PM market is ......... Patience. It will change and catch you all off guard....
These are incredible times. Nothing about this is "normal" or sustaining and no one ever said that The End of The Great Keynesian Experiment would be an orderly, rational process. Your role in this is to remain clear-headed and focused, protecting your family while alerting others to what lays ahead. Keep the faith, remain situationally aware and prepare accordingly. Ref : don't know
I had to resort to a dealer a few weeks back - I didn't get any bites on some close-to-spot PM gold bars I was selling. It's only because the price action is so choppy, I'm sure if you saw a sustained breakout the activity would increase overnight.
Royal ladies Masterpieces in Silver set. They exist. $25 face value coins. Also there is a $20 face value Olympic 2 coin set.
It is a contrarians dream. Trouble with buying Aussie PM for me is import duty can be crippling. Nasty little letters in the post months after the fact demanding money from the likes of fedex and customs. Lacks anonymity as it is all in a government database somewhere. Some great deals there though. It's like being a kid with your nose pressed up to the closed sweetshop window looking at jars of bulls eyes and apple drops.
