Maybe it's because most of my stack is made up of items that I 'like'. Do/would you find it hard to part with your 'precious' metals?
I buy bullion because I want to be able to store some wealth off the books. I haven't come to the point when I need to access any of that wealth. There is usually a cost involved in buying and selling the stuff, either in time, petrol or postage. Every transaction eats into my store of wealth so I generally don't tend to sell anything. I rarely buy extra items with the intention of selling them to recoup some of the costs. I do buy rolls of coins in bulk which I then sell on to coin club members at cost. This way I get to save on postage costs and I still get to keep a roll myself. But they really don't form part of my stack, just a hobby.
Yup. Have a pile of stuff I've been thinking of selling but every time I open the bag I can't bring myself to do it. I then go read KWN to convince myself that it's worthwhile holding on to and justify the decision Hence why I'll eventually swap all into round 50's, Stackers and unallocated.
I have no trouble at all selling, even at a good discount, if its to other stackers or people who are working towards completing a collection. Of course, no one is getting their hands on my Libertads. I wont even let my wife near them.
I hate selling, bit know that I am doing it for a greater good (to me). There are pieces that I will not be selling though. They are for me and the grandkids.
Make a list of the stuff you least want to part with. Then make an effort to get rid of them 1st. We shouldn't let our stuff own us!
