Why are some members allowed to carry on to the detriment of others.

    I have deadest had a gutful of Renovator and Auspm's lovers tiffs screwing up thread after thread after thread. Personally I don't have a problem with either member until they derail threads that I am in the middle of. This has deadset gone on long enough. It would probably be ok if it remained just between those two, but the vitriolic nature of some of the posts continually draws in other members into the two trolls utter rubbish. I just spent a retardedly long time attempting to reply to Shiney in the morality of debt thread on my iPad (quotes etc are time consuming) just to hit send and have had the thread locked before I could post.

    I would normally never attempt to influence a forums administrators on how they run thier forum but enough is enough.

    Right here we have two members that have made it a fine art of pushing the boundaries of forum rules so that the nature of the forum is disrupted without actually breaking the rules. I'll admit I have enjoyed reading many a post from both of them but IMO the members and the moderators need to think long and hard about allowing either member to continue to be apart of this community any longer. The complete nature of the Silver Stackers forum has changed in recent months certainly for the worse. Where will we be in months ahead if this continues?

    Completely agree, I've stopped using this forum for this exact reason and its not just the two people you have mentioned.

    I have met plenty people who haven't joined for this very reason. Sad when you think that a like minded community screws itself from within.
    I remember back in 2009 meeting jonesy.(it was he that told me about it) was so enthusiastic and positive about the forum, and recommended the best places to buy/trade. It was a different world back then.

    agreed....this is a public forum and far to often members here believe they its their duty to police threads and chuck in there 2 cents when its not needed. Usually it is personal attacks on other members.
    Unless something is directed at you or your interest I don't see why it becomes your duty to bud in. The amount of examples I could use is endless. I see no need for self appointed SS Soldiers to marching around the threads. Ohh well "life goes on" :)

    Since my name is mentioned....not sure thread after thread is really the case theres been a couple of threads lately. For months i was too busy to post so i think your embellishing a little
    Theres hundreds of threads on here weekly & because there is some tension in one or two of them you feel the need toget members turfed out ? ...... I can feel a case of sourgrapes just like last time auspm left .

    Actually i did, but since no need to login to view the forums, i never logged in, and i believe a few dormant accounts got deleted.
    I would also go beyond saying just personalities, there are a few sharks and smart asses as well, more than enough to intimidate a new member

    Somehow I'm expected to be omnipotent throughout the forum. Wasn't until today that a bunch of reports started rolling in complaining about the thread, and by then auspm had made a decision to request closure of his account.

    Seriously, for turtles sake, 99% of the people on this forum are of voting age - act like it - I keep getting crap about how the forum isn't what it used to be - but I can bloody guarantee the moment I start censoring people for every little infringement or insult, there will be an even loader outcry about "heavy handed moderation" - the shitstorm behind the scenes that erupted from the closing of the General Discussion (because of the exact same issues) was unbelievable.

    This forum is what you make of it. I'm not responsible for how people conduct themselves on here - if you want a more heavy-handed approach with more bannings, so be it.
