Which is the smallest denomination bank note in the world? I think I know which one, but would like to hear your thoughts first. Thanks.

To clarify... I am looking for the bank note with the smallest denomination in terms of its face value. Thanks.

To make it more interesting... also give me the highest denomination bank note in the world in terms of its face value. That is now the face value before conversion into any other currency.

Well done. I didn't know about that one. I now have two on my list:

    1. Hong Kong 1 cent banknote

    2. Zimbabwean 1 cent banknote

Can you guys think of more 1 cent banknotes out there? :)

do you mean current circulating notes printed in 2015 or any note ever made?
do you mean based on its value against us dollars or compared with the highest available in the country?
your question is a bit to vague to answer

Thanks for asking. If there was a restriction in terms of the date or condition of the notes printed, I would have posted it. Thus, any date and condition or type of banknote goes. :)

I hope this provides even more clarity: Use the face value and forget about converting it into another currency. Thus, look at the face value in terms of 1, 100, 1000, etc. If the note reads "1 cent" use that and don't convert it into x amount of dollars or anything along those lines. Sorry, I don't know how to be more specific, perhaps someone who knows what I mean, can help. Thanks.

@Silver Stacker That banknote is probably the most valuable banknote in the world.

My guess for the largest would be Zimbabwe. My boss has a 1 trillion Dollar note. Not sure whether they're still being used though.
