You can still come across some older date coins in your change, but coins do wear, and the mint keeps producing ciculation coinage in various denominations. So does anyone have an idea of the circulation life of coins? Do the banks retrieve the worst, or just a general percentage, of old coins out of circulation every set period.

Apart from horders /collectors taking their shares over the years, plus kids and people have stashes in piggy banks, those old coins have gone somewhere.

yeh the banks/security "mute" coins all the time, this means that the coins that are damaged/worn or mutilated get sent to RAM for destruction via a system that sees the banks reimbursed for the value
this also includes round 50's btw
